Type 1) 1890 (15 Oct.) unstamped envelope ex the "Lewis" correspondence to Hastings, marked "no stamps obtainable, R. Niger", showing a very fine strike in violet, "6d" tax h.s. and, on reverse, Liverpool Br. Packet (15.11) and arrival c.d.s. (16.11), also another earlier unstamped envelope from the same correspondence, showing "6d" tax h.s. and, on reverse, Liverpool Br. Packet (27.4) and arrival c.d.s.
