Nyasaland 1907 MCA Issue 2d. dull and bright purple and 4d. grey-green and black, both prepared for use though not issued, fresh very lightly mounted mint; each with light Bühler handstamp at foot. A very fine pair which are considered to be amongst the great African rarities. Bühler (1981) and B.P.A. (2007) Certificates. S.G. 69, 70, £27,000. Photo Estimate £ 14,000-18,000 Note: These stamps were prepared for use though they remained unissued due to the Protectorate´s name being changed from British Central Africa to Nyasaland Protectorate on 6 July 1907. It is believed that eighteen examples of each value have survived, of which blocks of four and a single set are in the Royal Philatelic Collection. There is also a set in the Mosley Collection in the British Library Philatelic Collections
