Great Britain 1840 One Penny Black Plate X OG and KD, tied by London District "4" cancellations of Hampstead on 1844 (19 Aug.) entire letter to Edinburgh, dated markings on reverse; OG touched or slightly cut into at places, KJ fine. Late use of the 1840 1d. and the only known multiple franking with the 1844-type cancellation. A good exhibition piece. Holcombe (1991), R.P.S. (2005) and B.P.A. (2008) certificates. S.G. A66za.
