Great Britain 1840 One Penny Black Plate VI RK, close to large margins, affixed sideways and tied by a remarkable bright fluid blue Maltese Cross of Partick on 1841 (13 Mar.) entire letter to Edinburgh, on reverse, blue boxed "14", red Glasgow and Edinburgh datestamps; a little soiled and small flap tear, otherwise fine and extremely rare. The blue Maltese Cross visually outstanding compared to the dark blue of English tows such as Echt and Preston. B.P.A. Certificate (1996). S.G. A2vc, £28,000.
