Great Britain 1840 One Penny Black Plate IV DG, good to large margins all round, tied on 1840 (15 July) entire letter to Dunfermline by a superb and upright strike of the Kircaldy Maltese Cross in brown-orange (See "The Maltese Cross - The colour problem" by R. Lowe, P.J.G.B. March 1975) with a matching "kircaldy/15 jul/1840" datestamp on reverse which opens well for display. A beautiful entire. Photo Estimate £ 2,500-3,000
