† Great Britain Postal History Newspapers The Morning Herald dated 1840 (15 July) containing a printed letter to the editor on page 5 reading "Sir- i would suggest, through the medium of your excellent paper, that the authorities of the Post Office should allow the adhesive stamp to be used to close the letter; thus doing away with the necessity of wax; it would save a great deal of time to the man of business, and it would be just as easy for the clerks at the Post-office to manage as the present mode, after a little practice. - Your very humble servant"; some slight toning as to be expected, other wise fine Estimate £ 100-120
