Great Britain Postal History 1843 (11 Jan.) entire letter from Newtown to Manchester, from which the original franking had fallen off in transit, with "newtown" double-ring c.d.s. (11.1) struck over the space where the stamp was placed, on arrival re-directed back to Newtown and the postage paid in cash indicated by a red manuscript "1", dated markings on reverse; pressed horizontal filing fold, otherwise fine and most unusual.
