Orange Free State Orange River Colony 1902 (Sept.) "One/Shilling" on 5/- green, a small selection comprising a horizontal pair with the left stamp showing variety surcharge double caused by a double paper crease, a horizontal pair with the right-hand stamp showing two rays missing, a horizontal pair with the right-hand stamp showing broken "g" of "Shilling", a single with surcharge misplaced to right, mint, and a used single with variety "V.R.I." double (not guaranteed). An unusual group of these interesting stamps. R.P.S. Certificate (1994) for the first pair with memo stating "May not be the "catalogued" variety" though we know that this is the pair that was responsible for the catalogue listing. S.G. 138.
