Orange Free State 1896 (Oct.) "Halve/Penny" on 3d. Ultramarine A mint collection (30) illustrating the three typesetting variations and including a block of twelve with plate number, no stop variety in a corner plate number pair with normal, surcharge inverted (7 with a marginal block of four and a single with plate number), and surcharge double, one inverted (3 showing different separations, two being both Type a and one being Type a corrected with Type c); also a used example used on 5 October 1896 at Zand River, the earliest recorded date of use, together with 1896 (Sept.)
