Orange Free State 1882 (Sept.) "3d" on 4d. Ultramarine A block of twelve (6x2, the right-hand vertical pair severed and rejoined), [37-48], the upper row all S.G. Type d with [40] showing break in bar and [42] showing damaged "d", the lower row all Type a from an early printing with no damage to bar on [48], large part original gum; a couple of creases, otherwise sound. Rare, being one of three known blocks of this size which have been instrumental in establishing the setting. S.G. 38, 41, £850+. Photo Estimate £ 300-350
