Antarctica 1910-13 British Antarctic Expedition by Robert F. Scott 1913 (5 Jan.) envelope, complete with letter from E.G.H.R. Evans, registered to Commander R.H. Walter at London and redirected to him at H.M.S. Minerva, Portsmouth, bearing No. 18 registration label and Victoria Land 1d. carmine (3), all cancelled with "brit. antarctic expd" c.d.s. for 13 January; the letter, headed "In the pack ice Lat 71º 40ºS Long 166º.0º W", with details of his journey to New Zealand, fitting out the Terra Nova, the discovery of a stowaway on board who was transhipped to a Norwegian barque, their arrival at the edge of the ice and "we were compelled to stop for two days being absolutely fixed in the ice"; the envelope with a few minor imperfections though a fine letter from the Commander of the Terra Nova.
