Antarctica 1901-04 British National Antarctic Expedition by Robert F. Scott The Second Relief Expedition 1904 (22 Mar.) Discovery crested envelope and four page letter from Scott to Admiral Markham at the Admiralty in London and redirected locally, the long letter, headed "Discovery Auckland Island" thanks Markham for his kind letter of congratulation, "From a point of view of the Expedition, there is one thing none of us regret and that is the second winter: we learnt twice as much in the second season as we did in the first" and goes on the narrate Scott´s further views on the practical knowledge gained from the Expedition; the envelope with stamp removed and with a tear across part of reverse, nevertheless a wonderful letter from Scott written two days after his arrival at Port Ross and a week before the three vessels left for New Zealand Estimate £ 200-250
