Sharjah and Dependencies 1965 Air 2r. multicoloured with bars obliterating the portrait of Shaikh Saqr bin Sultan al Qasimi, unmounted mint from the right of the sheet, fine. The rarest stamp of Sharjah and the United Arab Emirates. Photo Estimate £ 3,000-3,500 In August 1965 the various unsold values with the portrait of Shaikh Saqr bin Sultan al Qasimi were overprinted with bars. It was believed that stocks of the Air Mail 2r. were exhausted but two sheets of twenty-five were mixed in with other values, overprinted by mistake and discovered much later.
