Great Britain 1840 One Penny Black Plate VIII MH, small to good margins, just cut-into at extreme lower-left, tied by black Maltese Cross cancellation on a previously used 1841 1d. pink postal stationery envelope (originally from Bristol, 10 March), turned and sent from York to Bristol with despatch (17.3) and arrival (18.3) datestamps on reverse; fine and a very important turned envelope. Believed to be one of only three recorded 1d. pink envelopes bearing a Penny Black, and the only one known turned. A great rarity. Photo Estimate £ 2,500-3,000
