Penang Covers and Cancellations 1874 (7 Sept.) envelope to England, marked "via Brindisi", bearing 1867-72 6c. and 12c. vertical pair, both placed sideways and tied by circle of dots (Type K7), showing poor Penang c.d.s. in red and unframed "deficient postage/half the fine___" (Type UP2, earliest recorded date) with manuscript "1/9" (blue crayon) and "2/3" alongside; the cover with two small tears at top.
