Gibraltar Stamps of Great Britain Cancelled "A26" 1879 (5 Dec.) envelope to a U.S. Navy Officer on board U.S.S. "Alaska" at Panama, bearing 2 1/2d. rosy mauve Plate 16 cancelled with "A26" duplex, showing London c.d.s. (12.12) and boxed "returned for/deficient postage" h.s. in red, partially covered by 1873 1/- green Plate 13 (corner fault) cancelled in London and with Panama arrival c.d.s. for 23 April 1880 alongside. An attractive and most unusual cover, underpaid to a miss-interpretation of the postal rates.
