Gibraltar The Packet Agency 1827 (27 Jan.) entire letter to Welwyn, rated "2/10" and showing a fair strike of the curved-framed "gibraltar" h.s., the reverse with a fine Coat of Arms red wax seal and two London c.d.s. (18.12); the contents including a full page hand-drawn and coloured map of the "Plan of attack on the Turkish and Egyptian Forces at Navarino Octr. 20th. 1827" showing the order of fleet engagement of the English, French, Russian and Turkish/Egyptian ships, together with details of the allied casualties; a remarkable letter written shortly after the battle during the Greek War of Independence.
