Gibraltar The Spanish Overland Mail Regular arrangements were made, about 1749, for the English Mails to be carried through Spain although the service was suspended in times of war 1837 (2 Mar.) entire letter sent via Ecija, Madrid, Oleron and Toulouse to Genoa, variously rated and showing a fine strike of the oval-framed "ecija/a/andal. baja" h.s. in blue, "espagne/par oleron" h.s. in red and two other small indistinct h.s. in black, arrival d.s. on reverse.
