Gibraltar The Spanish Overland Mail Regular arrangements were made, about 1749, for the English Mails to be carried through Spain although the service was suspended in times of war 1790 (7 Apr.) entire letter from the Venetian Consul in Tangier to the Secretary of the Venetian Embassy in Madrid, rated "9" (cuartos) under a sign of the Cross and showing a superb strike of the "Andalucia/Vaxa" h.s. applied on posting in Algeciras, fine red wax seal of the Moroccan Consulate of Venice on reverse; fine and most attractive.
