George V, Maundy sets (2), 1911, 1936 (ESC 2527, 2553; S.4016, 4043), uncirculated (8) Estimate £ 150-180 The 1936 Maundy distributed by Edward VIII. There was no time to produce new Maundy coins with the effigy of Edward VIII, and so the coins with the head of George V were used. Edward attended the ceremony at Westminster Abbey, conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury Cosmo Lang, and he personally officiated at the distribution, the first monarch to do so for 200 years.
