Royal Academy of Arts silver medals (4), 93.61g, 55mm. all to Romilly Bernard Craze, the edges inscribed Dec.1920 (2), for best architectural design dec 1920, for best set of architectural drawings dec 1920, awarded Dec.1921, for a perspective drawing dec. 1921 and awarded Dec. 1922, for an architectural design, dec 1922, all in cases of issue, extremely fine, with Vatican, Order of St. Gregory, Knight´s breast Badge, metal gilt and enamel, with miniature award and lapel decoration, extremely fine, in fitted case (5) Estimate £ 150-180 Romilly Bernard Craze KSG, FRIBA, FRSA (1892-1974), English ecclesiastical architect, his principal work was on the restoration of many churches damaged by bombing in World War II. His best known works are the restoration of Pugin´s Roman Catholic Cathdral of Southwark and the shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham in Norfolk. An Anglican, he was very proud to be made a Knight of the Papal Order of St Gregory. It is thought this was in recognition of his work on Southwark Cathedral.
