Henry VI, restored, Angel, 5.04g, London, m.m. -/lis, St. Michael spearing dragon, trefoil stops, rev. shield within ship, cross above dividing h and a lis, trefoil stops (Schneider 450 - same dies; Allen dies H/m; Blunt and Whitton type 5/9; N.1613; S.2078), lightly creased, very fine, very rare Estimate £ 2,000-2,500 This type with the distinctive lis mintmark may be output from a separate mint. In the Schneider Sylloge Woodhead designated these as the ´lis group´. They form a closely linked small group within the Henry VI restored Angels that does not link with other dies attributed to London. They might be the product of a separate workshop at London, the output of a specific period of London production or, possibly, an issue from the York mint, but which is not for certain.
