Blachford, 24th Foot), remnants of lacquer, good very fine Estimate £ 800-1,200 Major-General Augustus George Blachford, the first cousin once removed of Commander Geoffrey Dennis St. Quentin Marescaux, commissioned Second Lieutenant, 24th Foot, 1825; Captain 1841; served with the Regiment during the Punjab Campaign, 1848-1849, including the passage of the Chenab and the battles of Sadoolapore, Chillianwallah (where he succeeded to the Command of the Regiment and advanced Lieutenant-Colonel) and Goojerat; Major-General 1860.
