Four: Commander A.F. Marescaux, Royal Navy South 1834-53 (Midshipman A.F. Marescaux.); India General Service 1854-95, one clasp, Pegu (Alfd. F. Marescaux. Midn. "Hermes"); Baltic 1854-55 (A.F. Marescaux, Mate. H.M.S. "Termagant."), contemporarily engraved in upright serif capitals; China 1857-60, three clasps, Fatshan 1857, Canton 1857, Taku Forts 1860 (Alfred F. Marescaux, Lieutt. H.M.S. Fury.), similarly engraved to Baltic, last clasp loose on riband as issued, contact marks throughout, very fine (4) Estimate £ 1,200-1,400 Commander Alfred Frederick Marescaux, R.N. served as Mate in H.M.S. Castor during the Third Kaffir War (1850-53); posted to H.M.S. Termagant (Commodore T. Henderson), June 1854; after taking part in the Baltic operations he served in H.M.S. Highflyer, before service during the Second China War with H.M.S. Nankin and as a Lieutenant in the Fury; discharged to Half Pay by sentence of Court Martial, 8.12.1860, whilst serving in H.M.S. Edinburgh; however he was restored all but two years of time and continued his service in Edinburgh; he later served in the Coast Guard Service, Queen´s Ferry; promoted Commander 4.11.1868; and appointed the Inspecting Officer of Fowey Division, 7.9.1872; retired 1876.
