London Gazette 1.5.1973 24210300 Fusilier Alan Christopher Peterson, The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, ´in recognition of gallant and distinguished service in Northern Ireland during the period 1.8.1972-31.10.1972.´ 242210300 Corporal Alan Christopher Peterson, born Barking, 1.7.1950; his father was a Rifleman in the Royal Ulster Rifles; Peterson served 6 Tours of Northern Ireland with the 2nd Battalion Royal Regiment Fusiliers, including fro the period that he was Mentioned, when the battalion were deployed as the spearhead battalion and were based at Andersontown, Belfast; his death was recorded , ´on 22.4.1977, Corporal A.C. Peterson aged 26, 2nd Battalion The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, at Sennelager as the result of an accident on the range.´ (Obituary included in lot refers); his death was caused by ´Decapitation due to Anti-Tank Missile Wound (Training Accident)´ at Salamanca Range, Sennelager Training Area, Germany.
