Melbourne & Suburban Railway Co., £10 share, 18(60), vignette of steam train about to cross a bridge flanked by a surveyor and a navvie, plan of the route below, black on thick paper, about extremely fine Estimate £ 300 Built a line from Melbourne City centre to Richmond, Burley and Hawthorn, later extending to Camberwell, Lilydale and Healesville by 1889. Acquired with the St. Kilda and Brighton Railway Company by the Melbourne and Hobson´s Bay Railway Company in 1865. Taken over by the Government of Victoria in 1878 as part of the Victorian Railways.
