A Victorian Deputy Lieutenant´s Uniform A black cocked hat by HILL BROS, 3 OLD BOND ST, with black cockade under black velvet loop bearing silver oakleaf embroidery, secured by regulation Crown and Wreath button; plain white drooping feather plume; an 1875 pattern scarlet Full Dress tunic for a DL of an English county, named to William Thompson, with buttons as on hat, and silver oakleaf embroidery on blue collar and gauntlet cuffs. An embroidered rose at each end of collar; scarlet three-pointed slashes on skirts, also embroidered with oakleaves; companion trousers, named to same owner, with 1 3/4-inch silver lace stripes; and a red leather waistbelt, laced as the trousers, with fine burnished oblong silver waistplate mounted with the Royal Cypher within an oakleaf wreath in frosted silver, and matching sword-slings with ornate billet-buckles (4) Estimate £ 250-350
