The Rare ´Non-Christian´ Russian Order of St. Vladimir Awarded to Gregory Wilenkin, Financial Agent to Tsar Nicholas II Russia, Imperial, Order of St. Vladimir, Fourth Class breast Badge, by Eduard, St. Petersburg, 35mm, gold (56 zolotniki) and enamel, with ´Non-Christian´ Imperial Eagle central medallion on both sides, maker´s name and mark on reverse, 1896-1908 kokoshnik mark on suspension ring, nearly extremely fine, together with the following related items: - The recipient´s University Graduation jetton, gold, named (in Cyrillic) on the reverse ´I.S.P.U. G.A. Vilenkin.´ and dated ´1887´ - Two portrait photographs of the recipient - Invitation named to Monsieur & Madame G. Wilenkine, inviting them to a State Ball at Buckingham Palace, 29.6.1914. Estimate £ 1,200-1,500 Mr. Gregory Wilenkin was an Orthodox Jew who was born at Tsarskoye-Selo, near St. Petersburg, Russia, in February 1864, and served as the Tsar´s financial agent, both in Russia, and at the Russian Embassy at Washington, D.C.
