Fraser R76056), good very fine (2) Estimate £ 160-200 Pilot Officer Ernest Ewart Crompton, born Verdun, Quebec, 1915; died 10.11.1939, and is buried in Deane (St. Mary) Churchyard, Lancashire. R/76056 Sergeant Harold Seymour Thomas Fraser, died 30.10.1943, and is commemorated on the Ottawa Memorial, Ontario. The original G.R.I. cypher, first used during the Great War, was not replaced with the G.VI.R. cypher until 1940; therefore early memorial Crosses issued for the Second World War continued to use the old George V design.
