R.), generally very fine or better Mercantile Marine War Medal (Charles Gaffney), extremely fine Second World War Medals (5), 1939-1945 Star; Atlantic Star; Pacific Star; Defence Medal; War Medal, nearly extremely fine, with the related miniature stars (12) Estimate £ 80-100 Lieutenant T.H. Dreyfus, Commissioned Lieutenant, Royal Artillery, 1.7.1917. SS/109305 Stoker 1st Class Henry Catford, of Old Kent Road, London, served in H.M.S. Opal during the Great War; died 12.1.1918, when in atrocious weather conditions the Opal crashed into rocks near Scarpa Flow with the loss of her entire crew, and is commemorated on the Portsmouth Naval Memorial PW/5493 Private George Edward Day, born Hythe, Kent; served with the 1st Battalion, Middlesex Regiment during the Great War; killed in action, 28.10.1916, and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, France.
