Essex R.), extremely fine, with the recipient´s Great War Bronze Memorial Plaque (Edward Foster) and slightly damaged Memorial Scroll, named to ´Pte. Edward Foster Essex Regt.´ (3) Estimate £ 200-240 3-1111 Private Edward Foster, born Stratford, Essex; served with "Y" Company, 1st Battalion, Essex Regiment during the Great War; killed in action at Gallipoli, 28.6.1915, on which date the Battalion suffered 3 Officers and 11 men killed, together with 49 wounded and 12 missing; and is commemorated on the Helles Memorial, Turkey.
