Estimate £ 50 A well known London banking and issuing house that failed in 1914 due to the speculation of one of its former directors, Arthur Grenfell , in various Canadian railways and oils. The company was origally a partnership, Morton, Rose & Co., which changed its name to Morton, Chaplin & Co. on the entry of Eric Chaplin to the business. It was registered as a limited company in 1899.
