Grenfell as director, ornate border, black, 3 adhesive British South Africa Company stamps used as revenues, good very fine Estimate £ 50 Claude Grenfell was from a very well known military family and served in the Matabele campaign in the Bulawayo Field Force in 1896. He volunteered during the Boer War, joining Thorneycroft´s Mounted Infantry, and was killed at Spion Kop in 1900.
