Persian Bank Mining Rights Corporation Ltd., a specimen £5 preferred ordinary share certificate from the Bradbury, Wilkinson & Co. archive, 18- (circa 1890), Persian lion at left, ornate border, brown, with counterfoil, small tear at top right corner otherwise extremely fine. Estimate £ 80 Formed by Baron George de Reuter (son of the founder of the Reuters News Agency), to work metal, coal & petroleum deposits. The drilling was not successful and by 1899 the company was in liquidation. The word Bank in the title refers to the concession given to Baron Julius Reuter for the establishment of the Imperial Bank of Persia.
