Foreign Post Offices Japanese Post Office I.P.O. Tieprints foochow: 1899 (27 Oct.) envelope registered to Japan bearing C.I.P. 10c. pair tied by Foochow bilingual c.d.s. and large "R", used with Japan Koban 10s. orange-brown (3) with Foochow boxed tie-print and Shanghai I.J.P.O. c.d.s.; two of the Kobans overlap the edge of the covers which is also a little soiled. Also 1884 (21 Apr.) envelope from Peking to U.S.A. "Via Japan per Courier" bearing Koban 10s. blue tied by Shanghai dumb chop with I.J.P.A. c.d.s. (3.5) alongside and Yokohama transit (16.5) with appropriate transit datestamps on reverse; the cover bears Large Dragon 1ca. and 5ca. cancelled by Peking seal but these do not belong.
