China Liberated Areas North-West China — 1c. grey-green and 5c. blue in complete sheets of eighty, cancelled by Ian An c.d.s. dated 1946 (2 May) some splitting of the roulettes. Unique used sheets of exhibition standard. S.G. NW15B-16B; Yang NW6-7. Photo Estimate HK$ 40,000-50,000 These are the final sheets from the Peter Townsend collection which he acquired as souvenirs when he visited Mao Zedong in Ianan. Complete sheets in the 160 stamp format of all three values were sold in our Hong Kong auction in January 2009. These sheets are from a completely different setting and are ideal further study
