A well centred and desirable pair in near matching colours. Dr. Robert Yue collection. Photo Estimate HK$ 200,000-250,000 A presentation album of Chinese stamps was prepared as a gift for President Franklin D. Roosevelt. At the same time the Postal Administration compiled approximately ten further collections which were presented to high officials of the government. It is believed that all the known examples originated from these collections, accounting for their lack of gum. An initial survey located the following examples. Robert Lee collection, 1963 ( 1/2c. no gum, 20c. blunt corner) Warren Kauder collection, 1972 ( 1/2c. and 20c., no gum) Rocpex Prize Selections, 1981 ( 1/2c. and 20c) Christie´s auction, 1994 ( 1/2c. no gum, 20c. some gum) Sotheby´s auction, 1997 (still on part presentation page) Dr. Stephen Gates collection, 2009 ( 1/2c. and 20c.)
