x Spanish Colonies — 1899 envelope to Manila at single registered rate, marked at upper left "Por Uranus", bearing 1899 handstamp issue 2c. blue-green, 3c. brown and 5c. rosine, all tied by fine strikes of oval "gobierno p.m./yslas marianas" Arms handstamps in brown, Military Station No.1 (11.12) c.d.s. in black on reverse with reddish violet registration datestamp alongside (few letters are known with this marking); vertical folding crease away from the adhesives, a wonderful and extremely rare three-colour franking, especially so with the "Uranus" endorsement. Only three such covers recorded of which this is undoubtedly the finest. Signed "Genuine, J.M. Bartels" on reverse and further manuscript "Paul Koch, July 1912". Graus Certificate (1991).
