Serbia 1845-1919 reference collection formed by the famous expert Herbert Bloch of New York, on leaves and loose, contained in a carton, being an in-depth study of all issues accompanied by photographs and annotations, together with a tremendous range of cancellations, including seventeen pre-stamp period E.L.´s (1845-69) with straight-line types for Bania, Grocka, Gurgusovac, Krusevac, Negotin, Valievo and Zaicar, oval double-ring for Kragujevac (3); a large range of cancellations on 1866-68 Prince Michael and 1869-80 Prince Milan stamps and covers (16) including "naplatschen" (paid), straight-line handstamps (8 types) and manuscript, circular town handstamps (several settings and types), with and without year, "tystenkk" straight-line handstamps and registered handstamps, 1866 Newspaper 1p. and 2p., 1866 Prince Michael Vienna printing, wove paper perf. 10 1/2 20pa. rose-red with straight-line cancellation, perf. 9 1/2 40pa. blue with part "naplan" cancellation (these two items both Ex Ferrary and believed to be unique), pelure paper set unused, 1867-68 Newspaper 1p. and 2p. perf. and imperf., 1869-80 narrow margins, 1895 Postage Due 5p. carmine error, 1905-11 King Peter I imperforate frame colour trials (45), 1911 3d. lake used, 1914 3d. yellow, together with a selection of "postes serbes" items, etc., mixed condition but a valuable and most interesting lot.
