Iceland 1876-95 perf. 14 x 13 1/2 16a. brown, used with 1896-1900 perf. 12 1/2 20a. dull ultramarine (horizontal strip of four) on long envelope registered to San Francisco, Reykjavik cancellations of 6 Dec. 1896 with boxed "danemark/r" handstamp alongside, on reverse violet oval "reykjavikur/poststofa", Edinburgh (20 Dec.), Glasgow (21 Dec.) and New York (1 Feb.) datestamps, a portion of the front of the envelope cut-away ar lower-left), creased and other small faults, nevertheless rare.
