Charles II (1660-1685), Crown, 1668 VICESIMO, second laureate and draped bust variety right, rev. crowned cruciform shields, interlinked C's in angles, seven strings to harp, upwards lettered edge, 29.83g, 6h (ESC 36; Bull 373; Spink 3357), light flecking marks and soft to the higher parts of the hair, spots of verdigris, otherwise with pleasingly uniform and grey surfaces, the edge lettering handsomely proud of the surfaces and boldly struck, light residual lustre, very fine
