William I 'the Conqueror' (1066-1087), 'Two Stars' Type, Penny, 1074-1077, Lincoln, Ulfr, crowned bust facing, stars flanking in fields, rev. + VLF ON LINCOLNE, pellet-tipped quatrefoil over cross bottonée, 1.40g [21.6grns], 10h (SCBI 27 [Lincolnshire], 857; North 845; BMC V; Spink 1254), some striking softness to crown, otherwise rich darker tone, very fine, a pleasingly full mint signature, a presumably very rare type for the moneyer and mint with only one other traced on EMC/SCBI
