Malta 1965-70 Issue 4d. complete pane of 60 from Plate 1A with "knights of malta" (silver) omitted, central vertical fold, fine. Pierron MA672MCa, £2,125; S.G. 336a, £2,700 Estimate £ 600-800 Note: Two silver ink plates were used for the printing of the stamps. One for the inscription and one for the country name. The first of the silver plate numbers relates to the ´KNIGHTS OF MALTA´ inscription. Nine intact panes (three 1A and six 1B) of 60 and three plate blocks (all 1A) are known with the error. In addition, the error is known to have occurred on the top row only of at least one pane due to a massive down shift of silver.
