x Indian Stamps used in the Straits Settlements Straits Settlements Bisects 9a.6p. rate to the United States of America 1859 (Sept.) envelope from Singapore to New York, marked "via Southampton" and "Under 1/2oz.", bearing 1855 4a. black on blue glazed paper pair and a single bisected diagonally, all cancelled "B/172", showing red London Paid transit c.d.s. (3.11), part arrival datestamp and, on reverse, "singapore/p.o." double-ring d.s. in red; the envelope a little worn around edges and with some light discolouration at upper left.
