Great Britain Line-Engraved Issues 1840 One Penny Black Plate 1b KJ, intense black, smalll to enormous margins, on neat, clean entire letter used locally in London, dated 24 November 1840, tied by superb strike of the black Maltese Cross, with light handstruck "T.P/High St.S.G." (St. Giles) alongside; no side flaps, the adhesive with pressed creasing, though in no way detracting from the very fine appearance of this cover, used during the experimental period for black cancellation ink.
