Great Britain Other Illustrated Envelopes 1837 (23 June) single sheet entire letter from Lewes to Taunton, rated "1/8" and "1/-" (both crossed through) and correctly marked "10(d)", the interior with rectangular sampler pattern grid with the required shape and colours marked in the relevant boxes - twelve different colours/shades being handpainted on this particular example (all of which are remarkably vibrant given the passage of over 170 years) and additionally noting "The white to be filled up with floss silk" and in a different hand underneath "White worsted does quite as well"; minor perimeter faults.
