(x) Commercial Banak of Australia, specimen £5, 18- (1880-1910), Melbourne, serial number range A30001 - 40000, (Vort-Ronald 1, Pick unlisted), in PMG holder 58EPQ Choice About Uncirculated. A very unusual specimen with Chinese characters printed on either side. There have been a few speculations as to the reason why, including there being two prominent directors being of Chinese descent. Also, there being a sizeable Chinese population working in the gold mines in the area and wanting to reduce their aversion to 'paper'.
