Roman Republic, Anonymous, AR Quadrigatus, struck c. 225-212 BC, laureate heads of Janus, rev. Jupiter, hurling a thunderbolt and brandishing a sceptre, in galloping quadriga driven by Victory, right, incuse ROMA inscribed upon raised tablet in exergue, 6.45g (Crawford 28/3; Sydenham 64; HN Italy 334; RSC 23; RBW 63), struck upon a compact flan, lovely style, slight die flaw to obverse with strike off-centre to reverse, but otherwise good very fine to near extremely fine
