1d. dull carmine, vertical pair cancelled by light '11' barred oval of Port Ahuriri, generally clear to large margins but cut into at foot and at upper right in places; both stamps slightly thinned, upper stamp with small tear at top, fine appearance with strong colour and a huge rarity. The only recorded vertical pair of the 1855 London Printings. Odenweller (1987) and R.P.S. (N.Z.) (2002) Certificates. S.G.1, £40,000+, Campbell Patterson A1a
