Great Britain: London Joint Stock Bank, £50 shares, a series of certificates, acknowledging transfer of shares, 184[5], £10 paid, and 186[5], £15 paid and another acknowledging proprietorship, 187[1], £15 paid, all brown and black, similar design. The bank was established in 1836 and amalgamated with the London City and Midland Bank in 1918. It would appear that certificates acknowledging transfers were of similar status to actual share certificates, each being signed by directors and secretary. The first GVF, the others F-VF and a little grubby (3).
